Overview
Of the many capital projects the City of Cape Girardeau considered, an indoor sports complex immediately rose to the top as an ideal complement to the local dining and lodging tax funding that made it possible. Youth sports tourism is a significant demand generator for the existing Cape hospitality inventory and initiated new interest in future development. Working with a design-build team, Gray won the competition for this exciting project.
Cost-Effective, Multi-Sport Facility Design
The team designed a state-of-the-art facility in a preengineered building that offered a second indoor soccer field while staying within budget, resulting in a configuration of two soccer fields, baseball diamonds and batting cages and six basketball courts or volleyball courts.
